5 Days Kenya Safari – Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru & Lake Naivasha

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. After a safari briefing, depart for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve via the scenic Great Rift Valley. Enjoy breathtaking views and stopovers along the way before continuing through traditional Maasai lands.

Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for your first exciting game drive in the Maasai Mara, renowned for its abundant wildlife and spectacular savannah landscapes. You may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and many other species as the sun sets over the plains. Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. After an early breakfast, depart with packed lunch for an extended safari experience across the reserve in search of the Big Five and other iconic African wildlife.

Visit the famous Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles and known for the dramatic wildebeest migration crossings during migration season. Guests may also choose an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. Continue exploring the reserve’s diverse landscapes and wildlife-rich plains before returning to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart the Maasai Mara and drive towards Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy scenic countryside views along the journey before arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, proceed for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rhino sanctuary and rich birdlife. The park is home to both black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, and numerous bird species including flamingos depending on the season. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru National Park before proceeding to the beautiful Lake Naivasha. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and check-in.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha where you can spot hippos and a variety of bird species including African fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, and cormorants. Guests may also choose an optional walking safari at Crescent Island among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge surrounded by the peaceful Rift Valley scenery before dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the lodge before departing Lake Naivasha and driving back to Nairobi. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and local countryside.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon where you will be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Kenya safari experience.
